Basketball is a terrific way for kids to start in team sports. They have fun, exercise, learn important sports skills and teamwork and develop friendships.
Our development program for Girls and Boys ages who are turning 5, 6 or 7 this year, where they attend a weekly training as development players to begin to learn team sport, basic skills and rules of basketball.
Under 8s play in the North Gold Coast Seahawks Basketball League. Players are aged 6 & 7 and teams are mixed boys and girls. We recommend those children new to basketball attend training sessions prior to registering for U8 competitive basketball, however all interested players are encouraged to participate. Competition fees and Uniform information is detailed below.
Each Under 8’s season runs across one school term and is a great way for young ballers to dip their toes into the basketball experience.
​Did you know that games are played under modified conditions?

Teams only have 4 players on the court at any one time, allowing for greater spacing and more opportunity for players to handle the ball.

Everyone loves to make a basket, so games are played on lowered 8.5' hoops.

Games are played with a size 5 ball that allows more scoring, and better for the development of sound shooting technique.

Coaches are also allowed on the court with the teams to help direct the players.

Seasons are run during the school term and there are 4 x terms (seasons) / year

TERM 4 SIGN UP!
STEP 1. NEW PLAYER PRE-REGISTER WITH THE WOLVES
Are you a new club member? Please complete our club pre-registration form BEFORE registering for the North Gold Coast Seahawks competition. Once we receive your pre-registration form submission, our registrations manager will be in contact with you about playing basketball with the Wolves this season.
SETP 2. REGISTER WITH THE NORTH GOLD COAST SEAHAWKS ON BASKETBALL CONNECT
Each Wolves player is required to register via Basketball Connect. Only complete this step if you are in an existing team, have completed team trials or have been allocated to a team by our registrations manager.
*In cases of financial hardship, and you would like to discuss a payment plan, please email info@wolvesbasketball.com.au for further guidance. Government Fairplay Vouchers up to $200 / player are also available. More info here.
TERM 4 - 2024 COMPETITION INFORMATION
REGISTRATION DETAILS
All participants must be currently registered with Basketball Queensland. Basketball Queensland registration is valid for 1 year from the time you pay.

Under the new BasketballConnect system, you will be asked to renew your BQ rego at the time of registering for a competition if your current rego is set to expire prior to the end of the season.
WOLVES UNIFORM
Under 8's team members will be required to purchase a Wolves Jersey & Shorts. These are $50 each. Purchase your uniform in our Online Shop. Please include in the notes when ordering, your child’s name, U8 and size.
FAIRPLAY VOUCHERS
From 1 July 2024,150,000 FairPlay vouchers of up to $200 will be available to every Queensland child aged 5 to 17 years, plus 50,000 vouchers of up to $200 for children under the current eligibility criteria. Vouchers are valid for use for 12 months.

Once you have determined if your child is eligible for a Voucher, please contact our Registrations Coordinator at registrations@wolvesbasketball.com.au on how to redeem your Voucher prior to registering your child.
